Birmingham, Michigan native, John Neff has been a professional musician since 1963. Releasing several records in the 60s, he also worked as a session guitarist and synthesist in Detroit in the early 70s.
He later co-owned a recording studio in Maui with the late Walter Becker of Steely Dan. John was sound engineer on records for both Becker and Donald Fagen (also of Steely Dan). Willie Nelson's "Jimmy's Road" also boasts John's engineering work.
John, who was the rerecording mixer for David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, and sound recordist on Lynch's Inland Empire, is studio manager and music partner with Lynch at Asymmetrical Studios, in Hollywood, California. Their most recent CD is "Blue Bob."
